Although the LFT's are acceptably accurate especially when identifying a positive result there are situations when a negative is indicated but where the subject may actually have Covid.
The official view published about 28 days ago follows.......
New analysis of community testing data shows lateral flow tests to have a specificity of at least 99.9%
This means fewer than one false positive in every 1,000 lateral flow tests carried out.
But even our scientists are learning on a day to day basis
There are of course quite a few who challenge research but of course there are many who also refuse to believe that Covid-19 is a danger.
I take the view that LFT's are a useful tool. No test of any sort is 100% accurate.
