This Local Authority is a bit like a football team with 11 players playing a 5 a side team.
Any prospective new J & H Councillors worth their salt should get tough and make sure he or she is respected and listened to.
I'd have made sure they listened to me if I had been representing Jarrow or Hebburn.
Us older regulars can remember when Jarrow & Hebburn built loads of Council Houses and we both became Smokeless Zone whilst Shields was still in the Victorian era with slums ans smoky coal fires. Then bad luck hit us and we were forced to change from a County Durham address to a South Tyneside one and then our finances were used to help 1800s Shields into the 20th Century, including housing Shields people in J & H.
