Liz, Do you remember the clay pipe shop on the opposite side of the High Street from Woolworths? There was an old woman in there with a huge steel bucket and if you sat in it she would weigh you for a penny. Also on the other side was a tobacconist who had a full size wooden red Indian out side the shop. Another shop had a full size Highlander but I can't remember where that was. It ended up in Saltwell Park Museum and then......? Like all the other exhibits, it just disappeared - as did the councillors of the time. Everything put into storage it was said.
