Re: Booing - Taking the Knee - education
I spent over 20 years as a school governor , more than 15 as chair and occasionally was parachuted into schools that were struggling, Teachers were indeed working through the pandemic, delivering online classes as well as teaching in schools at the same time for children of essential workers, delivering online classes are vastly different to deliver and had to be put together at very short notice. The teaching staff were in a lot of cases working well outside their prescribed hours to make sure the curriculum could be delivered, I have two nieces who are teachers and they were so pleased to be back in a classroom, it was a lot less stressful and as they said it meant they could ensure the lessons were getting done.
A lot of parents compared at home working to detention because of the isolation and especially in primary education children tend to work in groups.
