The "Dip" you refer to Rusty, was Swan's yard. In this yard was Caxton's Printing workshop. Heslop's Pork shop was just outside this yard and on the steep High Street. Next to the pork shop was Shield's news agency (eventually Quigley's. You can just see part of Shield's shop on the right of this photo. The Caxton Workshop has now been renovated to a very high standard and is very attractive. Pity the Beeswing and just about everything else is knackered. hair poem
