Re: Over 75 TV License
You lot think you are hard done by. You don't know how lucky you are. My neighbour, also called George, is 91 years old, TOTALY BLIND and lives alone. If you shine a torch into his eyes from one inch, he sees nothing. George loves the TV as he enjoys sports commentary. His particular love is horse racing and cricket. He is entitled to a 50% concession, so his fee for his TV is ONLY £79:50 This entitles him to listen, in colour. The licence authority advised him to buy a black and white TV the as fee is only £26:75. This would entitle George to listen in black and white. George has requested, not unreasonably, what the fee will be to LISTEN not in colour, not in black and white - but JUST BLACK. They fail to reply.
I have placed this phenomenon on this message board previously, but as no one has yet invented a useful hearing braille model, poor George continues to listen in colour - whilst in total darkness.
