I wrote a long note regarding Paris based UNESCO and was about to post it when I realised I really didn't care what UNESCO says or does as it has no bearing on my life and as far as I can see, anybody else's life outside those with a vested interest in its existence.......not unlike many other pointless organisations.
If being World Heritage Site = lots of extra foreign tourists, consider the effect of covid on tourism. People in this country will still visit Stonehenge if they can afford it; I was lucky to pass it many times and have been up close to the stones before it was prohibited. Similarly, I stood outside 10 Downing Street when I was living in London in the 60s.
Most of you who read this will realise it's currently raining!
