Re: Blackie Boy Renamed, They are being wise.
That pub is very famous indeed as it was the Watering Hole of Thomas Bewick the Newcastle engraver. He made the original woodcuts to produce a Newcastle bank note and he also produced the first book on ornithology in Newcastle using wood cuts. His house can be seen at cherryburn. Sorry if I'm going on a bit but I hate to see see history disappear up a back alley.
