Re: Another Grant for our Local Authority
No Norman lottery grants like most grants are very specific for either location, intention, target group etc. Hebburn needs a active campaigning group and you don't go with a shopping list but a specific project, you have to provide need, benefits which can be cultural, commercial, community, health or many other reasons, it needs to be costed, the infrastructure needs to be shown to be robust etc . I wonder if some of these lottery funded projects have been initiated by campaign groups and the Council takes them on as the responsible authority for the administration of the project. It's a common mechanism for large funded projects. A meeting of community activities groups with councillors could well be the start. But without identifying a need and a possible project solution Hebburn and other parts of South Tyneside will get nothing.
