A Typical Night
I’m fast asleep, but this slumber is interrupted by an inner urge to wake up and get to the toilet before an accident occurs?
Half asleep, or is it half awake, I push myself up on the bed, a major effort in its self and plonk my feet on the floor. I seek and grab the nearby window ledge to prevent me from falling.
I wait 30 seconds before pushing myself up, to my full height, and holding onto the window ledge until I can grab my walking stick or stroller.
The “night light” in the hall allows me to walk the 15 steps to the toilet.
Back to bed via the same route and routine, praying to my “Guardian Angel” to help me to return to sleep quickly.
Alas, all to be repeated at least another once or twice before dawn?
