Trying to recall how much my dad would have paid to have my hair cut way back in the 1930s ,and which barber he would have taken me at that time, we lived in Campbell Street in Hebburn Quay. Given that four pence would go a long way then. Now pay £10 -- which I think is a fair price at todays prices ? He always took me to the same one every time. I am sure there would have been dozens to choose from. Always a " men only " thing, woodbines , football , betting ,and, other subjects , that at the time when over my head , perhaps just as well !!
