WOW, what a great photo. And I can concur on the date:1956. Just above "H" (The Cemetery) you can see the curved shape of Queens Crescent. My parents lived in Frederick Street up until 1955/56. When my Mam was told that she had been allocated a new council house on Queens Crescent, she used to walk there, and watched them being built. They moved in, where I was born in November 1956.
Prior to this, another photo from "Britain from Above" shows this area of land (Queens Cresent, Dukes Ave, Toner Ave, Johnstone Ave) was covered in allotments.
