The government had ran an epidemic scenario a couple of years before and chose to ignore the recommendations, it would have their lives and ours if they had taken the recommendations on board. People may well be trying their best but without the right framework in place it makes it so much harder. Its estimated 60k visas have been issued but just over 1500 have arrived because of the system in place. The system needs to be overhauled and involve organisations that are used to working in refugee movement and processing what we have for the present situation is over complicated, beauracratic and that has been stated a number of times by various individuals and organisations and I have to agree.
