Mac like you I wasn't planning to watch either. But casting people who weren't exactly authentic to the roles isn't exactly new. The amount of white actors playing Othello, John Wayne as Genghis Khan, Robert Donat as the Mandarin in zinn of the Sixth Happiness. We also have people from various ethnic groups and sexual definitions complaining about the same thing you have, yet others are saying they are narrowing their chances of work. I think it will continue no matter what we say but its the rewriting of history rather than the 'artistic' interpretation that aggravates me.
