A memory from 1954/55 I was a friend of Moria McCarthy who lived in Langland Flats on Hedgely Road near the Massons. .I can remember seeing Margaret we assumed was studying, as she had her nose in a book, we think, but also had the lace curtain tied back,so everyone could see her. We waved and when she saw us she immediately pushed the curtain down. that must have been 68 years ago, butI still remember it. Moria and her parents with younger brother Dominic moved to Exeter in 1955, I still remember her as a nice girl. I used to visit Exeter from 2006 and often thought of her, but sadly my friend in Hebburn told me she had died. I believe she did marry and have a family, which was nice to know.
