Re: The Sewells
She was a lovely lady and a very good dressmaker. I remember her telling me her daughter was at university and she made her a dress for a university ball and took it to Durham to make sure it fit her perfectly. Her daughter met her husband at University. As he was Jewish it caused problems with his family as it is the mother that have Jewish children. Her daughter took the Jewish religion. It must have worked out as she did show me photos of her grandchildren. He was from a very wealthy family. Do you remember Gor Ray skirts, that was one of their companies. I can’t believe I remembered this usless information, but I was really interested at the time.
