That's a blast from the past!

When I left school, for a short while, before I served my time in engineering, I worked in the offices of Rowell's Brewery in Gateshead.

One of my duties was to take orders off the phone for the weekly pub deliveries.

"The Ellison Arms" was one of Rowell's pubs, and although I knew Hebburn quite well , (lots of relatives), I hadn't a clue where this pub was.

"The Mill Tavern" on Mill Lane and "The Prince of Wales" on York Avenue were also Rowell's pubs.
