On the 25th April I posted that we'd had a Racing Pigeon hanging around our garden for a few days.I knew that because I could see the two rings on its legs .
Norman Forster kindly got a friend & Pigeon racer (Darren) to come to collect it.I lured it into my hut and Darren collected it, and because they carry identification he rang the owner in Hull. The bird was returned to its owner soon after.
Today we had a racing pigeon in the garden & it's the same bird. Darren has just collected it this morning and I trapped it in the hut again by throwing bird feed in. He was amazed so rang the owner in Hull and he was also amzed it's back in here 100 miles further than Hull. He said it was in a race from Eastbourne to Hull about 250 miles and has overshot by 100 miles again. The owner told Darren that it was 2nd in a race last week.
Darren will get the bird back to Hull like he did last time.
