Hello Greggs, I agree with Norman Dunn DEMARCATION was the DEMISE of ship building on the Tyne,basically meant one man one job,one trade could stop all work in the yard,it went on for years we shot ourselves in the foot,till it was to late,the JAPS,and the rest took advantage of it,they built ships out of the elements,our ship builders worked out side bad weather stopped production,shipyard owners made there money,and pulled out ,unions did,nt help matters,in the end we were to exspensive orders were no more end of story.so sad really end of an era.
