The site of the old Newtown Club is an eyesore and disgrace. I have no idea who owns the land or what their intentions are but South Tyneside Council should chase them up to get the site (or should it be sight) sorted ! It’s the same with West Parade, the pavement has been blocked by barriers for over 8 months forcing pedestrians and wheelchair user to either walk on the road or cross the road twice, it is a significant hazard and risk, again South Tyneside Council need to get their fingers out !
