Unbelievably, today I read a guy has been charged with abusive behaviour for calling two young women “Pet”. In the 1980’s, my daughter’s friends still remember how they used to love visiting us, as I always called them Pet or Pet Lamb. They thought it was lovely. I have to admit, I have not used the words for many years, but it’s nice as women in their 40’s still remember. I also remember a friend and Neighbour, when his mother from Leicestershire visited always called me, me duck. Happy memories.
