Hi Lilian, Its always lovely to hear your memories of old Hebburn.
Until I was 9 yrs old I lived in 14 Lyon St just 50 yds from the store and remember getting sent along to the Lyon St entrance for a quarter of streaky bacon and then giving our chq number 27128. Or wa it 2 ounces of bacon? 
If that building had been anywhere else in the country it would have been converted into something that would be still there today. The Mills in Yorkshire for instance were converted into homes.
