I dont remember where I was but I do remember the news that George had died and that Queen Elizabeth was on here way back from Kenya.
Being early in 1952 (I was seven) I am fairly certain that our TV hadn't arrived and that it was Newsreel footage at the cinema that I recall. Our TV arrived the back end of that year and we relied on far away Holme Moss for a signal of sorts. It wasnt until just before the Coronation that we could rely on the new TV mast at Pontop Pike.
