Sorry Tom, I honestly don't know for as far as I know there was no records of what was shown throughout the history of the cinema, the Shields Gazette archive may well have cinema listings in their archive you could search there. As the Rex was a minor cinema it may have been a while before it reached the Rex, it certainly would not have been their on release. I have checked the release date and it was late 1956 so it's fairly safe to assume it would have been 1957 when it arrived at the Rex so I think a fair few films were shown before it arrived.
