On D Day 78 years ago there was 73,000 American military taking part, 61,715 British & 21,400 Canadian's. 11,590 Allied Aircraft supported the landings and 6,939 Naval Vessels. The casualty rates were tremendous ie 6,603 Americans casualties, 2700 British casualities & 1074 Canadian casualties. 78 Years later its hardly been mentioned in the News here in the UK. America has remembered it in their news, but very little in UK news.
