By 85 I had long left the NE and so my memories of the line are of the old wooden trucks marked BOWES (widely pronounced as Boweys in Jarrow)
In this pic there are mainly modern steel trucks marked NCB but I think there might be an older one in the centre.
In the background I can see the delightful no-star Simpsons Hotel (to give it its official name) but does anyone know what the modern factory building to the right of the trucks was/is?
