I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of Paul Younger until I read this link & subsequently looked further into his history & life. He was a world renowned Hydrogeologist & Environmental Engineer born & bred in Hebburn! We undersell ourselves here in Hebburn at times this being the case here I think.
He has died at a very young age without I guess a lot of Hebburnites not knowing who he was or of his existence? I think naming the Centre after him his a fitting tribute to him & maybe a history of his life should be on show in the Centre?
RIP Paul Younger.
I think the statue is a great idea also.
