I think a statue or two is a great idea and about time people knew we helped Sir Humphrey Davy all those years ago. Those Davy Lamps saved thousands of live in coal mines all over the World, yet no one knew of Hebburn's connection.
Councillor McCabe is the ideal person to lead this request as his Great Grandfather & Grandfather both worked in Hebburn pits. Then when Hebburn pit closed in 1932, they rowed across the Tyne each day to work in Wallsend Pit rather than be out of work
Regarding the heat from Mine water scheme,
I didnt know much about Professor Paul Younger either.
Its great to hear we can now learn about him and that a Building supplying warm water will be named after him and he isnt forgotten.
RIP Paul Younger.
