Sandra, my husband and I have been up in the north east for the last week, we travelled north after a week in Yorkshire.

Now that we no longer have a base in Bill Quay we have taken to renting houses, we have found one about 5 miles east of Corbridge we have stayed here 5 times now, fabulous. During the week we have been in the north east we have been to Allandale, Allanheads, Blanchland, Kielder, Otterburn, Hexham and Corbridge plus drives along Hadrians Wall, we have had a fantastic time revisiting places from way back when, we have found some lovely food shops, and a few very nice restaurants, yesterday we had lunch in William de Percy in Otterburn, really lovely and not expensive, Tuesday night it was a return visit to Bouchon Bistro in Hexham, again fantastic food.

People sometimes run down the north east but there are so many interesting places to visit, you don’t need to spend a fortune, finding places to eat is also very good.
