You are probably right Brian, but polio was cleared from this county in the late 1950’s with a vaccine. I remember my daughter born in 1967 having the vaccine as a baby. It’s back because of immigrants from poor countries. I remember my mother being terrified in case any one of us caught TB. It had all been cleared, because of better hygiene. My friend in Hebburn in the 1990’s had a cough that she could not get rid of was sent to a hospital and it was confirmed she had TB. Again sadly this is brought from poor countries by immigrants. Sad but true. It is something we have to live with.
