That must have been a weekend away. It’s about 77 to 80 miles today on cycle routes. Equivalent to a 250 km. for a round trip. With the kind of terrain involved best bet 5 hours at 15 mph but maybe 10 mph Ave better. I think ride time With stops be nearer 8 hours each way. Today it could be done in a day but it would be very fit cyclists (professionals?) on very good modern bikes. Allan C.
