I have used the trains in Holland and Germany too, It showed what good nationalised rail systems were capable of. Before covid we were planning an East to West trip across the USA, surprisingly cheap and you can customise your time stops changes and routes. We may still do it in the future but we'll wait till the world calms down a bit.
