I'm too young to remember the Lakes but I had relatives who lived in The Willows and I went to St. James' junior school, so I was familiar with the area. My family would always refer to that area as "The Lakes" and I remember hearing about someone drowning years ago.

It's really interesting to see the photos and read the reminiscences from people who actually remember them.
