Ernie was from a large family. Who came up to Hebburn to I think help Alphonse Reyrolle. They had lived in London before the move.
Ernie was one of 12 children, one died before the 1911 Census and about 4 were born in Hebburn.
The Grandfather was born in France and the great grandfather also. Cannot remember is full name but something like Yves St. Laurence Nicod.
I have done the Nicod family tree but only the main family not including who the rest of the brother and 3 sister married.
Most of the family born in England I cannot remember exactly but the Grandfather was from Paris.
Norman has posted photos of early Reyrolle staff and some of them will likely be on it there being a similarly to Ernie.
Tomís right with the Reyrolle connection.
If you come across any Nicodís they are more than likely to be descended from that family.
I cannot remember if the Nicod name is an anglicised version of the French one. I suspect I have it all in my family history files .
Regretfully I have lost contact with Aunt Ednaís children. Bennie is dead, Beryl and David unknown but they woul be older than me.
