Re: Anyone used their heating yet
Hi John and Brian, its rented and had the experts in but all the insulation is in. There is a gizmo that could be installed for the roof but it has continuous running costs so we didnt go there. Most of the year there is no problem, and when we used the central heating normally there was no damp. Last winter the damp issues started when we decided to be sensible put the heating on for a few hours at night and an hour in the morning keeping it off the rest of the time layering up with warm clothing etc to keep ourselves warm instead of the house but then you are cleaning mould spores off as it appears on the external walls mainly in one part of the house. We use a dehumidifier, air when its dry and keep on top of it, have bathroom paint on so its clean and not dire, but its an ongoing nuisance in winter. We used to have the heating on all the time in winter and have t shirts on - happy days! With the extra support per household from the govt we could use the heating a bit more but seems a waste when you can just throw a blanket over your knee and hoy a hat on - we'll have to stop watching them sas survival progammes on the telly :-).
