Davies. On the 1851 census my G G GG/F and family were miss translated as Davies instead of Morris on the Ancestry website. Whoever did the translation I think had not really got into the handwriting as the family was the top entry on the Census page.
Yes it was not easy to read but when you know it’s obvious.

( I have found that if it’s difficult to read a name look further on the document for other shapes of letters., also watch out for letters that run into other letters on the next line distorting each other.)

I found them through the Familysearch and Find My Past sites.

I did have an inkling though as they lived in tHe same village from 1841 up to 1891.

When doing research I sometimes find that I solve sort of a problem during the nighttime. I suppose that you absorb info and hash it around during the night. I used to do the same thing on work stuff. In both case it was not unknown for me to get up and make a note, once I got up at 5am and was in work by 6.30. Sound daft but no able to get back to sleep.
