John, I had a both my knee joints replaced 3 years ago, after my physical examination the surgeon offered the operations in the Nuffield as I had no underlying health problems and I would be in and out in 36 hours, the Freeman hospital was going to be 5 days, evidently it was cheaper to the NHS for my operation done this way than at the Freeman. I didn't argue, the first op, booked in a 3pm, in the theatre at 4pm, having my evening meal just after 6 pm, no mucking about.
