It seems to me to be a potential Cash Cow for councils dishing out fines.
It is difficult to maintain low speeds like 5, 15 20, and 30 mph mainly because vehicles are not designed to travel at those speeds.
Even in a30 limit it’s difficult as you need to watch the speedo.
If a 20 limit that’s harder to comply and worse if there are speed bumps. Traveling at 20 mph does that cause more pollution?
In a 20 limit are drivers watching their speedometer more to stay under the limit and thus not watching the road!
Thank goodness we are out in the sticks and only use main roads in the main to get into Harrogate.
In 20 limits does this mean the pedestrians will be less likely to watch out for vehicles?
No doubt these limits will be imposed but just question if they will serve their purpose.
