the old wooden bridge had four flights of metal stairs when I was young in the forties,in the fifties the bridge was changed to a path on top of the hil which made it easy to push my pram over to Hedgely road from Campbell street
I think that it might stil be in existanse but we left Hebburn forty years ago,and Hebburn has dramatically changed but the bridge will still be needed to be there to cross the railway line.
