So much has gone, most obviously the pond and duck house, replaced by grass and a paddling pool, itself gone thanks to the H and S brigade who considered it a danger to children. It never did me any harm!!
The tennis courts were still the same in 1957 as they were in 1927. The first two smooth and well maintained the other two gravelly and only played on in desperation when the others were in use.
"Q" in the pic was not at the time Balgownie Clinic but a private home. I have no idea who lived there in 1927 but I think that Jimmy Young the dentist lived there in the 1950's with his practice just further down on the other side of Bede Burn Rd.
In 1907 it was the scene of the attempted murder of Livingstone the Solicitor when the house was owned by a Mrs Bradley. Page down this link

And the field at Jarrow Park didnt, as can be seen, sport the Air Raid Shelter (another out of shot) that became post-war changing rooms for football when I was at the Grange.
So many memories.
The "store offices" not marked but left on "L" must have been almost newly built.
Three cars!!!
