Folk music and Christmas seem to go together, in fact local musicians were the ones to play in churches but the Victorians deemed them to raucous and replaced them with the church organ we are so accustomed too. Here we go with three different tracks from different musicians:
This is Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band who use a fair few medieval instruments, Maddy is also the lead vocalist in Steeleye Span.





This next artist is Kate Rusby with a nice version of a well known carol It's a Sheffield carol she will tell you a little about them before we go to the performance:





This final artist is John Kirkpatrick a master of the squeezebox and is performing one of his compositions it's quite funny and the intro is very good too and well worth a listen:
