The gearbox packed in and while replacing it I found that the main ribs underneath had been packed with newspaper and fibreglassed over.
There were previous problems with it. Basically a heap of scrap.
So in Jan 1968 bought a brand new Viva.
Remember looking around to replace the Minor found that there were loads of Sharks about selling “CxxP”.
One Ford estate drove it home then straight back the next day the front suspension was shot. A few other cars looked at rubbish.
Hence the new Viva and paid for that with a small win on the. Pools.
