This Council were not interested when the late Michael Lynch asked if we could have a memorial plaque to honour the people/air raid Wardens killed in the Glen Streets Council Yard bombing that also hit houses in Charles St WW2.
The Council showed no interest so Mike had a Memorial Plaque made privately at his own cost & donations. He wanted the Plaque displayed on the Glen Medical Building which was adjacent to the Council Yard but the Council wouldnt help so thanks to the Iona Committee it ended up on their Wall and it looks lovely.
