Tom the Alan Durrant your on about was the uncle of the Alan Durrant I put on.
And my wife's uncle.
The Alan your on about was a big lad a Blacksmith who died young in his 40s early 50s in 1980ish
His father was Dickie Durrant head of Security at Leslie's during WW2 and after.
Prior to WW2 Dickie was a PC in Hebburn.
No wonder they did not want their niece their granddaughter marrying a Catholic and no wonder I got the first payoff and never got in Leslie's again.
Tuff innit they are all gone and she is still with me after 50 years.
