It was perhaps my favourite Newcastle Cinema. It had a special grandeur and I always recall the plush lounge areas to the rear of the theatre
In the mid 70's I used my parking space in the Dex behind the Cinema to attend multiple screenings. I read somewhere that there was a covered walkway to the Odeon but I certainly don't recall it. When I used it the Dex was a scruffy old place but so handy!!
My wife often got free tickets for the midnight shows. Sometimes film premiere's, sometime acts like the excellent Des O'Connor.
