Re: GP Surgery
John we joined our surgery in 1978. All the doctors were superb, but sadly they have all retired. I have a lovely young woman doctor, who has always been the best, but it’s now impossible to see any of them. You might see a nurse or a nurse practitioner, a physiotherapist, a paramedic or eventually your doctor. I don’t blame the surgery since 2004 when the Eastern Europeans, Africans and Arabs arrived. The surgeries were not allowed to refuse registering them. Now at last their books are full and closed to new patients. A few years ago I needed to see my doctor as it turned out I had a broken toe. I was waiting as an emergency appointment, when a young woman dressed all in black with only her eyes not covered arrived shouting Doctor, Doctor now. The receptionist asked if I could come back in the morning to accommodate this you’re woman who as creating a lot of noise. I just gave up and went home. After Covid it’s never recovered. They tell you all appointments are taken for the day, either ring 111 or 999. Is this the future.
