Family just returned from that match.

Granddaughter played for Northern Diamonds Academy against another of the group of 8 Academies. All friendly matches.

Don’t know how many matches there’s still to play but NDA are off to south coast to play another Academy next week.

Up to now our Granddaughter has scored the most runs over all 8 Academy’s with the 2 place girl being 21 runs behind her.

Over the 3 days we have been able to watch snippets of her and others playing through a video link.each snippet is about 12 to 15 second long.

Their outfit has huge numbers on the back so you can see her quite plainly. However we can now tell her by her gait.

The other players each have their own gait but cannot link up their numbers with names it usually hair colour and length we use to tell who is who.

I think each Academy has 23 or 24 players to pick from in each age group and a similar number in the up and coming group so that’s about 240 girls in the U18’s. Then there are the younger age groups.

So girls cricket has a lot of support which I never knew about.
