It was the front fork seemed familiar to me, the fork legs are about 6-8” apart rather than the normal 3-4”
Looked it up. Bike made by Lotus of Colin Chapman fame.
The frame cost £25,000 the wheel a huge amount and total cost £55,000 Wow.
In one of today’s events there was a big crash and I think one of our riders involved and they say some bikes were written off.
I’m not surprised as they are build of carbon fibre and ultra light, strong enough to do what they are designed for but a lets say a side smack and it’s gone.
The team would scrap it anyway as there is no way of checking Carbon fibre I understand. It ma y look undamaged but it’s too risky to use again.
I just remember the way we used to hammer our bikes in the 50’s
