It is difficult to trace people after 1939 as that is the latest record available.

However you could find if she has died in South Tyneside area through the ST registers office if prior to I think 2008.

On Ancestry you can get the register of voters prior to a date.

Failing that it becomes very difficult unless someone knew her family.

There are phone records but that’s now useless as I haven’t seen a directory for years. Some library’s. Used to hold them but I don’t know if there is a way of searching them say issued 10 years ago.
