The powers that be, want people to use bikes instead of cars.

Some places are a bit like Ellison St. but shorter, not quite as steep.

I suspect that the only ones that are going to ride bikes are those that do so already for pleasure.

You cannot exactly go shopping on a bike unless it it one of those Cargo bike or a bike equipped with panniers etc.

Then the probability that it will get nicked if you park it even locked up.

Ride a bike to work, no chance in a lot of cases you would need a set of clothes at work and have changing and shower facilities.

Been there, done that , years ago.

The ride to work down here from Knaresborough to Harrogate has 2 hills. Even if at my fittest would only do that ride a max of twice a week but more like once a week when Ann required a car.

The thought of riding to work, a shower and change and then start work then do it all again on returning home.

Of course you could just be sweaty and stink in the office YUK.

That’s at least an hour lost each day plus additional traveling time that could add up to 2 hours of more. No way.

The solution was a second car and Ann then got a job in Harrogate .
